PhD Day 2023
The event is promoted by the four doctorate programs at the Engineering School of the University of Florence. It aims to facilitate acquaintance among PhD students and facilitate contamination between knowledge and experiences in different research domains. Participation to the event is open to all PhD students, master students, PhD students advisors, and anyone who wish to attend, even if only partially. Representatives of industries and companies are also welcome.
PhD students of the XXXVI cycle will be invited for a short presentation, while PhD students of the others cycles can present posters, individually or for research groups.
The event will take place at the Engineering School, via Santa Marta 3, room 060 and in the space in front of the Engineering Library.
It is possible to vote for your favorite poster(s), either through the QR code you will find on each poster or directly through this link. To vote you need to have an email address @unifi.it
Important dates
– new poster proposal: May 10th, 20:00– A3 pdf posters to be sent by Sunday May 14th
– proposal for an oral presentation: Friday May 12th at 14:00– Communication of accepted oral presentations: Saturday May 13th
– Deadline for uploading the slides of your oral presentation: Monday May 22nd at 20:00
– Vote for your favorite poster(s) – until May 23th, 13:00
– Vote for the best presentation(s) – May 23, 9:15-13:00
Tentative program
9:00 – 9:15 – Opening session
The PhD students’ delegates, the doctorate coordinators and the head of the Engineering School will introduce the PhD Day.
9:15 – 12:15 – Ted talks
12 PhD students will be admitted to oral presentations for each department of the Engineering School (DICEA, DIEF, DINFO) for a total of 36 presenters. Each presentation will be allocated a time slot of 3 minutes. Talks will be given in English. The list of scheduled talks is now available.
12:45 – 14: 30 – Poster session
All PhD students (individually or for research groups) can present posters. Posters will be in A3 format with indicated date, logo, sponsors and QR code.
A contest has been organized. All posters will be published on this site for voting. Voting closes at 13:00 on the PhD day.
13:15 – 14:15 – light lunch
Winners of the contest will be announced during the lunch.
14:15 – 14:30 – Closing
