Long Bio
Kieu My was born on February 28th, 1986 in Binh Thuan, Viet Nam. He won the “best student paper honorable mention” award at the International Conference on Image Analysis and Processing 2019. His research is about domain adaptation approaches for pedestrian detection in thermal imagery under Prof. Andrew David Bagdanov. Before his Ph.D., Kieu My won a scholarship for a three-month-internship at Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan during his master’s degree at the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City. In Vietnam, he was a lecturer at Sai Gon University, and he has more than 7 years of experience in teaching programming for thousands of students. Apart from that, Kieu My also owned his company in Information Technology. Before that, he graduated the bachelor with the 3rd ranking from Ho Chi Minh City – the University of Pedagogy with distinction degree – and excellently completed the military service for 2 years.
Kieu My is also working on the project “Safety and Security Object Detection on High-Speed Train System”, which we are collaborating with Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) which is the Italian Railway Infrastructure Manager. In this project, we are building object detectors for thermal imagery that should work on high-speed train drones.
